Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Health in the Spirit collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because we collect very little, and we never sell your data.

Who we are

Health in the Spirit is a podcast and content website operated by Dr. Ryan DeNome and Annie DeNome in Ohio, United States. The site is built with Astro and Decap CMS and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. What we collect, and why

We only collect what we need to run the site and respond to you:

• Newsletter email address. When you subscribe, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it) so we can send the updates you asked for. We store and send these through MailerLite, our email provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
• Contact and guest-inquiry form details. When you use a form on the site, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit. These submissions are delivered to us through Web3Forms, a form-handling service, and then land in our email inbox so we can reply.
• Direct email. When you email any of our published addresses, we keep that correspondence for as long as it stays useful to the conversation.
• Basic server logs. Cloudflare, our host, automatically records standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site online, fast, and secure. We use this only in aggregate for reliability and security.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run third-party analytics cookies, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Service providers

We share information only with the providers that help us operate, and only for that purpose:

• MailerLite: stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails.
• Web3Forms: delivers messages submitted through our contact and guest forms.
• Cloudflare: hosts and secures the website.

Each of these providers handles your data under its own privacy terms. Because they operate in the United States and elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small amount of browser storage for site preferences only, such as remembering that you have dismissed our top announcement bar. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We honor these requests for everyone. Email privacy@healthinthespirit.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, and we keep form messages and email correspondence for as long as they remain relevant to our conversation with you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
